PARMA RETAL

The project is set in the outskirts of Parma, creating a “new place” within the contemporary city. It is designed as a cohesive nucleus composed of a set of buildings with well-differentiated sizes and characteristics, aimed at providing a complex and articulated settlement. It features a distribution system of streets and pedestrian squares, mostly open, interspersed with covered areas through glass canopies.

The central gathering and arrival point for all pathways is a large elliptical covered square, envisioned as a modern reinterpretation of the “agora,” the quintessential meeting place.
